With the rise of vegan versions of everything, I knew there had to be a vegan spray tan out there somewhere. With a little help from my best friend, Google, I found Lavish Tan. Lavish Tan is a vegan, organic, paraben & chemical free, custom airbrush tan. Ummm, perfect! Count me in!

Kelsey spent years developing the perfect solution which brown sugar base, so you don’t appear orange (there are no carrot in the formula). The brown sugar base is explained to be similar to the oxidation process that cut apples go through when left out, they brown.
The 10-15 minute appointment takes place in a small, but comfortable room where Lavish Tan’s solution is applied by hand with an airbrush. Your solution chosen is based on your skin undertones, it’s not one color fits all. And because it is applied by hand, not in a booth, the spray is contoured (but not in a creepy way) to your body’s curves. So it gives your body some sculpting, a darker, even complexion and helps with lessening the appearance of celulite.
Here are some tips I received to help my tan last (and are good practices for skin in general):
- Take shorter, cooler showers which helps prevent drying.
- Pat dry after shower. (Probably a tip for spray tanning specifically. You don’t want to wipe it away with your towel.)
- Moisturize twice a day. ⇠ This is the most important! You can definitely see the difference between moisturizing & not. Moisturizing extends the life of your tan!
After my appointment, I was told to shower after 5 hours. I became uncomfortable with how dark I had became as the hours continued & I felt rather sticky but when those 5 hours were up, I hopped in the shower and saw some of the tan go down the drain. What I was left with was radiant skin with a even complexion. I was really happy with how I looked and it was a real boost in confidence for me.

I took before and after photos of my Lavish Tan but my phone was stolen so the ⇡ one above ⇡ is the only one remaining. ? The rest of the photos in this post were taken 3 weeks after I got my spray tan! Isn’t the longevity of this tan incredible? The tan is suppose to last 7-10 days (depending on how often you moisturize, etc.). But it works as a great base tan for spring and summer!
